Description

The "IMPACT" series from Gefran consists of pressure transmitters that operate without any transmission fluid, designed for high-temperature environments up to 350°C. The process pressure is transmitted directly to a sensitive silicon element via a thick diaphragm. The strain is measured using a micro-machined silicon structure (MEMS) with a piezoresistive principle. This micro-structure integrates both the measurement membrane and the piezoresistors. The minimal deflection required by the sensitive element allows for highly robust mechanical construction. The process contact membrane can be up to 15 times thicker than traditional melt sensor membranes.

Applications:
  • Ideal for applications requiring complete absence of filling fluid, making it suitable for mercury-free, food, and medical uses.
  • Exceptional wear resistance, compatible with filled polymers.
  • High tolerance to dynamic pressure.
  • Robust under harsh process conditions, including cold starts and repeated installations.
  • Minimal thermal drift for Zero and Span signals: < 1%FS over 20°C–350°C.
  • Pressure ranges: 0–100 to 0–1000 bar / 0–1500 to 0–15000 psi.
  • Accuracy: < ±0.25% FSO (High); < ±0.5% FSO (Medium).
  • Standard threads: 1/2-20UNF, M18x1.5; other versions available on request.
  • Optional diaphragm types available.
  • Auto-zero function available onboard or as an external option.
  • Diaphragm: 15-5 PH stainless steel with GTP coating.
