The GFX4-PROFI module can be installed inside GFX4 or GFXTERMO4 products to expand communication using the PROFIBUS DP protocol. The module features two communication channels:

• First channel: Serial port with Modbus RTU protocol. Connects up to four GFX4/GFXTERMO4 devices (including the host device), allowing a total of 16 controlled zones (4 × 4).
• Second channel: Serial port with PROFIBUS DP slave protocol. Connects to a PROFIBUS Master. The node address is set either by two rotary switches (1…99) on the host device or via software message. The Master recognizes the slave node as the GFX4/GFXTERMO4 device containing the module plus any devices connected to the Modbus serial port.

The expansion module can be installed either at the time of ordering the above-mentioned products or later as an upgrade.
