Description

1800 Controllers

The 1800 series microprocessor controllers are available in 48x48 mm or 96x96 mm formats (1/8 DIN - 1/4 DIN) and are manufactured using SMT technology.
These instruments provide a full operator interface with a Lexan membrane ensuring IP65-rated faceplate protection.
They include 4 front panel keys, two 4-digit green LED displays, 4 red LEDs for logic or relay output status, and 3 additional programmable LEDs for indicating operational states.
The universal main input supports multiple sensor types: thermocouples (J, K, R, S, T, B, E, N, Ni-Ni18Mo, L), 3-wire Pt100 resistance thermometers, PTC thermistors, linear signals (0–50 mV, 10–50 mV, 2–10 V, 0–10 V, 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA), and potentiometers. Custom linearization can be defined directly via the faceplate keys.
Input type selection is made on the faceplate, with no external shunts or adapters required. An auxiliary isolated analog input is also provided, configurable for linear signals (0–10 V, 2–10 V, 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA), remote setpoint, potentiometer, or current transformer, supporting custom linearization.
Two isolated digital inputs can be programmed for selecting up to 4 local setpoints, start/stop/reset of internal timers, Auto/Manual, Local/Remote functions, alarm memory reset, or input hold.
The controller supports up to 4 outputs (relay 3A/250V or logic 12 Vdc/20 mA) and up to 2 isolated analog outputs in voltage or current. All outputs are fully configurable via the faceplate for functions including control, alarms, timers, digital input repetition, process value retransmission, setpoints, deviations, alarm setpoints, or values from digital communication.
Heat/Cool functionality allows adjustment of cooling parameters according to the type of fluid (water, oil, or air). An additional isolated output (10 or 24 Vdc, 30 mA max) is available for powering external transmitters or potentiometers.
RS485 (RS232C compatible) serial communication allows reading, modifying parameters, and online control (local/remote, manual/automatic switching, internal timer, direct output control). Supported protocols include MODBUS RTU and CENCAL (Gefran).
Parameter programming is simplified with function block grouping (CFG for control, Inp for inputs, Out for outputs, etc.) and a simplified menu for frequently used settings.
A PC programming kit is available, including a Windows-based configuration program and cable for connection (see data sheet cod. 80021).
