Description

1600P Programmers - Controllers

The 1600P is a microprocessor-based setpoint programmer and controller available in 48x96 mm or 96x96 mm formats (1/8 DIN - 1/4 DIN).
Manufactured with SMT technology, it provides a full-featured operator interface protected by a Lexan membrane for IP65 faceplate protection.
The front panel includes 4 keys, two 4-digit green LED displays, 4 red LEDs for logic or relay outputs, and 3 additional programmable LEDs to show operational status. A 10-LED red bargraph can be associated with analog outputs for control, inputs, or deviation monitoring.
The universal main input accepts multiple sensors, including thermocouples, resistance thermometers, thermistors, linear signals, and potentiometers, all with customizable linearization via the faceplate keys. No external shunts or adapters are required.
A second isolated analog input can be configured for linear signals, potentiometers, or current transformers. Two isolated digital inputs allow program commands such as start, stop, reset, program selection, and step advancement.
The controller provides up to 4 relay (5A/250V) or logic (11Vdc/20mA) outputs and up to 2 isolated analog outputs. Each output function is configurable, and event outputs can be linked to individual program steps, control functions, or alarms.
An additional isolated output (10 or 24Vdc, 30mA max) can power external transmitters or potentiometers. RS485 (RS232C compatible) serial communication enables parameter reading/modification and online operation (local/remote manual/automatic switching, internal timer control, direct output control). Supported protocols: MODBUS RTU and CENCAL (Gefran).
The programmer supports up to 8 steps, each with ramp and hold setpoints. Interlocks, event outputs, and preferred restart types can be easily configured through the "Step" menu. Steps can be grouped into a maximum of 4 programs.
Programming is facilitated by function blocks (CFG for control, Inp for inputs, Out for outputs, etc.) and a simplified menu for common parameters. Displayed parameters are automatically adjusted according to the hardware configuration.
A PC programming kit is available, including Windows-based menu-driven software and the necessary connection cable (see data sheet cod. 80021).
During program execution, the programmer controls the main output (heat/cool with dual PID loops) and can retransmit two setpoint profiles with a common time base to a slave controller via the two analog outputs. Both displays show program behavior in real time for immediate adjustment.
  • Universal input configurable from the faceplate
  • Input signal acquisition every 120 ms; 30,000-step resolution
  • Two control outputs: relay, logic, or analog with Heat/Cool function
  • Three configurable alarms
  • Two analog outputs (setpoint retransmission)
  • Two digital inputs with configurable functions
  • Auxiliary input for current transformer or remote setpoint
  • Heater break or short-circuit probe alarm
  • Self and auto-tuning, soft-start, local/remote setpoint, Auto/Manual
  • 12 (16) programmable steps arranged in up to 4 programs
  • Second setpoint can be retransmitted to a slave controller with the same time base
