Description
1800P Programmers - Controllers
The 1800P is a microprocessor-based setpoint programmer and controller, available in 48x96 mm or 96x96 mm formats (1/8 DIN - 1/4 DIN).
Constructed using SMT technology, it offers a full operator interface with a Lexan membrane that provides IP65 protection for the faceplate.
The front panel includes 4 keys, two 4-digit green LED displays, 4 red LEDs for logic or relay outputs, and 3 additional programmable LEDs indicating operational states. A 10-LED red bargraph can be used to show analog output values, input levels, or deviations.
Its universal main input accepts thermocouples, resistance thermometers, thermistors, linear signals, and potentiometers, all configurable with faceplate keys for custom linearization, without requiring external shunts or adapters.
A second isolated analog input can be set for linear signals, potentiometers, or current transformers. Two isolated digital inputs support program commands such as start, stop, reset, program selection, and step progression.
The instrument supports up to 4 relay (5A/250V) or logic (11Vdc/20mA) outputs and up to 2 isolated analog outputs. Each output is fully configurable, and event outputs can be linked to program steps, control functions, or alarms.
An additional isolated output (10 or 24Vdc, 30mA max) is available for powering external devices. RS485 (RS232C compatible) communication allows remote monitoring, parameter changes, and online operation. Supported protocols include MODBUS RTU and CENCAL (Gefran).
Programming setup is simple, with up to 8 steps each including setpoint ramp and hold. Interlocks, event outputs, and restart types can be defined in the "Step" menu, with steps organized into up to 4 separate programs.
Configuration is streamlined with function blocks (CFG for control, Inp for inputs, Out for outputs) and a simplified menu for frequently used parameters. Displayed parameters adjust automatically depending on hardware configuration.
A PC programming kit with menu-driven Windows software and connection cable is available (see data sheet cod. 80021).
In addition to controlling the main output (heat/cool with dual PID loops), the programmer can retransmit two setpoint profiles to a slave controller via the analog outputs on a shared time base. The dual displays allow real-time monitoring and adjustment during execution.
