Description

4500 Configurable Program-Controllers

The 4500 series are microprocessor-based setpoint programmers and controllers in 48×96 mm and 96×96 mm formats (1/8 DIN and 1/4 DIN).
Manufactured with SMT technology, they provide a full operator interface with IP54 protection (IP65 achievable with faceplate cover).
The faceplate features a 6-key membrane keypad and a backlit LCD display, showing process variables, setpoints, output percentage bargraphs, deviations, and alarm/controller status.
The main input is universal, supporting thermocouples, resistance thermometers, mV signals, and custom linearized inputs. A secondary optional analogue input allows remote setpoint, potentiometer valve position feedback, or current transformer connection.
A digital input allows switching between two preset setpoints or local/remote setpoint selection. Three isolated digital inputs provide start, stop, and reset functions. The 4500 model also supports eight isolated programmable digital inputs for enabling and stepping program sequences.
Up to four outputs are available, factory-configured as relay, isolated logic, isolated analogue, or MD81 expansion unit interface. Outputs are configurable from the faceplate and can manage heat/cool PID control, alarms, motorized valve operation (with/without position feedback), retransmission of measured variables, setpoints, deviations, or MD8 expansion unit control for additional alarms or programmable events.
The 4500 model provides eight additional freely programmable digital outputs for each program step.
The 3500/4500 series support up to 100 program steps (ramps and holds), grouped into 50 programs. Programmers can operate cyclically, with configurable time bases from seconds to days, software alarms, and four selectable restart modes after power loss.
Serial communication options include Current Loop, RS232, or RS422/485, with selectable GEFRAN CENCAL or MODBUS protocols, providing full read/write access to all parameters.
The menu-guided programming interface ensures rapid and intuitive configuration.
