Description

2308 Multizone Indicator / Alarm Unit

The 2308 is a universal panel instrument capable of displaying up to 8 different variables with configurable alarm or switch points.
Its high configurability, fast acquisition, and rapid response make it suitable for displaying physical phenomena with alarm switching in a wide range of industrial applications.
The instrument can accept:
  • Temperature signals from isolated thermocouples of different types
  • 2- or 3-wire resistance thermometers (RTDs)
  • Linear signals in DC voltage or current (e.g., potentiometers, amplified pressure probes, transmitters)
  • AC voltage inputs (up to 8 channels, with shunts/dividers as needed)
Input type selection for each channel is made via hardware configuration, while scale range (for linear inputs) is configurable via front panel keys (software).
Alarm outputs are available from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 10 using the MD81 external expansion unit.
Alarms are versatile: AL1 and AL2 can be assigned to any of the 8 channels or indicate the alarm status of a selected group of inputs (channels 1–8).
The passive current loop or RS485 serial link can be converted to RS232 using the CLB94 adapter.
  • Up to 8 displayed points with manual or automatic scanning
  • Supports thermocouple, resistance thermometer, DC voltage/current, AC voltage/current, and potentiometer inputs
  • Heterogeneous inputs supported
  • Up to 10 freely configurable alarm points
  • Optoisolated 4-wire digital communication
    Protocol: GEFRAN CENCAL or MODBUS
